Encompass
Are you looking for a London festival that delivers new
music but with it brings together art, business and fantastic
parties? Then direct yourselves toward Encompass Festival
2006.
On the nights of Thursday 11th, Friday 12th and Saturday
13th of May seven venues will host official label showcases
in the surrounding Shoreditch area alongside the workshop
and seminars that will take place during the day of Saturday
13th May at Shoreditch Town Hall.
Night venues will cover east London hotspots 93 Feet East,
Cargo, The End, 54 Commercial Street, Herbal, Sosho and
Rhythm Factory while seminars and workshops will be held
at Shoreditch Town Hall from 2pm-8pm.
The three nights will focus on London's unfailing club scene
and includes a shining line-up of 'well-knowns' in the electronic
and leftfield music. Label showcases from Non-Stop, Tummy
Touch, Warp, Loose Change, DC Recordings, Leftroom, Channel
Zero, Factor City , Tirk, Innervisions, Compost, Tyke, Some,
Border Community, Samurai.fm and Ghostly are on the cards.
Headliners gracing the decks and pumping the beats will
include Spectrum (live), Tim Love Lee Soundsystem, Jimmy
Edgar, B12, DJ Vadim, Eclectic Method, Undo, Fujiya &
Miyagi (live), Âme, Beanfield, Adam Beyer, Virus Syndicate,
Silicone Soul, James Holden, Brian Aneurysm, Padded Cell
and Plaid. From a rare live appearance from Warp's B12 electronic
pioneers to James Holden's electronic groove or the hip
hop styling of DJ Vadim and Mark Rae, Encompass will be
at the cutting edge of London's music scene.
The day workshop will be an opportunity to learn more about
the culture of the music business. The workshop features
well respected music industry mainstays who will be interviewed
in front of an audience. The theme connecting this year's
panellists is: independent, musically passionate, uncompromising
and successful. Music fans and those wanting to get their
foot in the music industry and learn more about the work
that goes on behind the scenes take note and don't miss
out!
Each night an Encompass wristband gives access to every
showcase. There will also be an extended programme of partnered
events across London including gigs, exhibitions, talks
and discounts.
