Ten Best Love Theatre
Love gone wrong makes for some of
the best drama:
Oedipus by Sophocles (not with your mother)
Othello by Shakespeare (jealousy)
Pheadra's Love by Sarah Kane
Ivanov by Chekhov (for money)
Playboy of the Western World by Synge (not taking the risk)
There are occasional plays where love is fun:
Arms and the Man by Shaw (loving the enemy)
Much Ado about Nothing by Shakespeare (talking love)
Blood Wedding by Lorca (it goes wrong, but so passionately
who cares)
Guys and Dolls music by Loesser (and it’s a musical)
and finally but don’t quote me on this,
Rose Tattoo by Williams (old fashioned passion).
